/ TRADE Magazine Launch Party
What an amazing night. The "injured" members of The
Secret Handshake took to the stage shortly after 11pm
and left just before the walls were about to come crashing down.
The amount of energy driven angst from these boys is something
that needs to be spread throughout the city. A good 30-minute
set satisfied the crowd of onlookers. Dance Yourself
To Death (featured in TRADE) jumped into the action
around midnight and had their legion of fans begging for more.
I still can't help myself singing along to the Teenage Kicks
cover and hopefully they will include it on their forthcoming
CD they are currently working on.
DJ Triple-X provided the interlude noises
with a great selection of local indie bands that included Ratsicule,
Uncut, Magneta Lane, LOE, Controller/Controller and more.
Everyone received a copy of TRADE
which featured some amazing articles on many interesting Toronto
based artists. This is a great quarterly zine worth checking
out. Help support independent artists by attending shows and
purchasing products.

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY BASH
/ TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL PARTY
Come and hang with the beautiful people as the 30th anniversary
of the Toronto
International Film Festival takes over Toronto once again
for the biggest party in the city. You never know who is in
town or where they will be.
Knotty Knights @ Lot 16 is all
about the incognito vibe. Tonight we're going to party like
it's...well, September 9th, 2005. This bi-weekly night has been
attracting a regular following of scenesters who come out for
the great atmosphere, no attitude, awesome staff and crack-ass
tunes.
DJ Triple-X spins an array of
eclectic music from 60's acid flashbacks and 70's disko and
punk, to the latest alt-indie-electronica. Requests are encouraged.
