Halloween will never be the same for those who
experienced Toronto’s version of Hell House on October 31st, 2004 at B
Sweet. The concept was taken from George Ratliff’s 2001
documentary, and was “intended to scare visitors and save their souls
with depictions of sin and hell.”
The Art of Darkness presented various art installations that provided
the backdrop for this evening of ghoulish entertainment. It was
also a costume party with prizes for best get ups, so not everything or
everyone appeared as they were.
The night featured special performances featuring rising spoken word
artist Priscilla Nadine doing her most eerie interpretations.
Stop Die Resuscitate (www.stopdie.com)
have been creating a buzz on the
Toronto circuit with their electronic beats and rhythms. Fellow
scensters LAL (www.lalforest.com)
provided a unique blend of South
Asian influenced electronica, combined with the haunting soulful sounds
of vocalist Rosina.
DJ Triple - X provided the musical interludes with a wacky mix of 60's
trip-out , 70's K-Tel hits, 80’s street beats, current indie climbers
and crazy-ass covers.
This was an evening of visuals, music, and mayhem not to be missed as
it will never be repeated.
